Commentators traditionally wrote the books on Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon under the heading of "The Prison Epistles". But I did not follow the traditional way. I wrote books entitled A Story of the Epistles to the Corinthians: CORINTHIAN CHURCH in the Ancient Greek Culture (2015) and A Story of the Epistles to the Thessalonians and the Philippians: MACEDOINAN CHURCHES and Byzantine Culture (2017). And this time I wrote A Story of the Epistles to the Galatians, the Ephesians, the Colossians and the Philemon: ANATOLIAN CHURCHES and CULTURE. These materials are available in PDF format on the Website, the Christian Church Studies: http://kccs.info and can be downloaded for free by anyone.

Anatolia refers to today's Turkish peninsula, meaning "the place where the sun rises" (Anatole). It was formerly called 'Asia Minor' (Mikra Asia) and translated into 'Asia' in the Korean Revised Bibles. Paul built many churches directly or indirectly in the region during his first and third missionary journey. These churches were located in southern Galatia such as Antioch in Pisidia, Iconium, Lystra, and Derbe, and in Asia Minor such as Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea, Hierapolis-Pamukkale and Colossae.

Anatolian culture had much in common with Greek and Macedonian cultures, but there were many other points. I have been interested in cultural, historical, and archeological remains in these provinces that may help us to understand the Bible texts better. And I have collected the material pictures such as photographs, coins, frescos, red-figure pottery, mosaics, paintings, sculptures, buildings and archaeological discoveries. At the same time I edited them in a certain size and best state, and captioned to these edited material pictures. I basically put three pictures in every chapter designed as an equally-divided-three-part sermon which I put a subtitle on each part.

This type of writing I have tried may be a little bit of unique way of writing that no one has tried before. It took me much more time and energy to research and to edit material pictures and comment to them than to write a commentary on the scriptures. All of my endeavors are based on restoring Christianity to its original purity and power and on the desire to restore the New Testament Christianity. This is why this book is necessary for Christians. I pray that God bless all the readers who are eager to share the grace of God with other people and who wish to expand the kingdom of Christ by reading this book and recreating it of their own.
