침례(浸禮)이지 세례(洗禮)가 아니다

한글 신약성서에서 “세례(洗禮)”라고 표기하고 있는 것은 “침례(浸禮)”를 오역한 오류이다.

신약성서의 원천인 헬라어에 “침례”를 “Baptizo(밥티조 -잠근다. 담근다. 가라앉힌다)”라 하는데 왜 한글역(새번역-NIV) 신약성서에서는 “침례”를 “세례(씻는다)”라 오역하고서도 떳떳하게 생각하고 있는가?

기독교 교리중에서 “침례”는 매우 중요한 신앙행위의 하나가 아닌가?

신양성서에서 “침례”가 들어 있는 88개의 성경구절을 한글 성경과 영문 성경을 대조하여보니 한결같이 한글역은 “세례”이고, 영어성경은 “침례 -BAPTIZO 밥티조”를 어원을 바탕으로 기록하고 있다.

아래에 “침례”가 들어있는 성경구절들을 살펴본다.
